DayZ console types.xml workflow

Console community-server owners can adjust the mission economy through the files exposed by their hosting provider. The exact panel and upload process varies, but the safe workflow is consistent.

1. Back up the live mission files

Download a complete copy before editing. Name backups with a date and a short change description so you can restore quickly.

2. Use console-available classnames

PC Workshop mod classnames are not automatically available on Xbox or PlayStation. Use items included in the console game and current mission files. A valid-looking XML entry cannot load content that is not present on the platform.

3. Change a controlled group

Start with a small group such as medical supplies, vehicle parts or one weapon family. Avoid rewriting the entire economy before confirming the first changes work.

4. Validate before uploading

Check for missing closing tags, duplicate classnames, invalid numbers and incorrect flag values. Keep the required root structure intact.

5. Upload, restart and test

Follow the host's upload and restart instructions. Existing persisted items may affect what you observe, so do not judge an economy change only from a few minutes of testing.
